Install the legs into the SLG-20 tube clamps, check that the thumbscrews point down towards the end of the legs. Test that the legs move smoothly up and down. Check that when the legs are raised, the springs are under a small amount of tension. Check the springs for damage or degradation. See the page for more details.

Tip: Spring tension should be similar to a guitar string.

Visually inspect for signs of any loose or missing bolts. During aircraft gear prep (both before and after flight operation), use a driver to tighten any loose screws. Do not operate the SLG-20 if there are any missing or loose screws.

This test should be done every time the aircraft is setup before flight.
