Accessing the SLG-20 Console Interface on Windows

Required Software

To access the console interface on Windows, you will need to download an install a program called PuTTY. This program can be downloaded herearrow-up-right.

You will also need to use the built in windows program called 'Device Manager'.

Instructions for Accessing the Console Interface

1. Setup

  • Power up the SLG-20 via the XT30 input and connect the USB to the computer.

  • Set the switch on the SLG-20 Control Board must be set to β€œD” or β€œDBG”.

2. Finding the correct COM port

  • Determine the correct COM port using Device Manager. The SLG-20 Control Board will show up as "USB Serial Port"

  • If you see more than one device, try unplugging the SLG-20 Control Board and see which device is removed from the list, this should allow you to find the correct COM port.

3. Connecting to the Console Interface Using PuTTY

  • Open PuTTY

  • Select Serial Connection Type, and enter the COM port that you found earlier.

  • Set the speed to "115200"

  • Click open, and a black window will appear.

  • Click on this window and hit enter, you will now see the SLG shell prompt.
