# Firmware Update Procedure

Firmware is updated via the USB interface. This is achieved with a dedicated firmware loader program, which is available for download [here](https://xm2labs.gitbook.io/slg20-retractable-landing-gear-altax-manual/firmware-and-software/slg-20-loader-releases) for Mac and Windows computers. 

You will also need to download the latest firmware file from [here](https://xm2labs.gitbook.io/slg20-retractable-landing-gear-altax-manual/firmware-and-software/firmware-releases).

## **Firmware update will wipe parameters, calibration is required after firmware update**

## Firmware Update Instructions

1. Power Up the SLG-20 Control board
2. Ensure Switch is set to "F" or "FW" mode
3. Open the SLG Loader Tool
4. Choose the COM or Serial Port that correlates with the SLG-20 control board
5. Choose the hex file for the firmware that you want to load
6. Click update firmware
7. Wait for the process to complete
