Step B: Install VTX Module: Avatar V2 Pro (Dual Antenna)

How to Install the Avatar V2 Pro VTX Module (Dual Antenna)

  1. Remove the Cover: Using a 1.5mm hex driver, remove the 2 screws holding down the cover.

  2. Connect Antennas: Connect the supplied antennas to the VTX Module. Reinstall the antenna cover.

  3. Position the VTX Module: Place the VTX Module in the Camera Bay with the antenna connections facing the Brain Bay Access Hole. The Brain Bay Access Hole, located opposite the Fan, leads to the Brain Bay. Insert the VTX Module from the front to ensure that the camera and antennas extend out from the front side of the enclosure.

  4. Screw-in the VTX: Use the provided M2 x 5mm screws to fasten down the VTX Module from the bottom of the enclosure with a PH1 driver. Connect the Walksnail cable from the USB expansion board to the VTX Module.

Step C: How to Install the Walksnail Avatar HD Pro Camera

  1. Attach the Camera to the Camera Bay Front Plate: Use the 4 provided M2 x 4mm cap head bolts to securely fasten the Walksnail Avatar HD Pro Camera to the Camera Bay Front Plate, specifically designed for the Walksnail Avatar Dual Antenna. Caution: Do not over-tighten the bolts. Over-tightening can damage the Front Plate and cause the threaded insert inside the camera to fail.

  2. Install the Avatar Dividing Wall: Carefully install the Avatar Dividing Wall into the enclosure, guiding the antenna and camera cables through the cutouts at the bottom of the divider. Secure the Dividing Wall in place using the provided self-tapping pan head screws. The Dividing Wall helps to direct the Camera Bay fans airflow and actively cool the VTX.

  1. Wiring: Connect the Walksnail Video Telemetry Cable to the VTX Module. This cable will be connected to the Brain Bay later in the installation. Route both the Video Telemetry and Fan Cables through the Brain Bay Access Hole.

  2. Attach the Back Plate to the HD FPV Camera Bay: Clip the HD FPV Camera Back Plate into place to complete this section of the installation. Ensure that the Back Plate is securely connected to the Camera Bay during flight to allow the fan to properly cool the system.

Over-tightening the bolts can damage the Front Plate and cause the threaded insert inside the camera to fail.

Ensure that the Back Plate is securely connected to the Camera Bay during flight to allow the fan to properly cool the system.
